RUNNING JOURNEY
Two time Brain tumor Survivor - Husband - Father of two young children
Brain Surgery June 2018 - First race 9 months later
Brain Surgery July 2020 + 38 days of Radiation treatment - Ran everyday of treatment! I am passionate about motivating and inspiring others to do things they dont think they are capable of.
I was never a runner growing up and only ran for wrestling practice. I was inspired to run after reading "Cant Hurt Me" by David Goggins where he talks about finding yourself through doing difficult things. In 2019 I ran my first 10k on my own just to see if I could do it. This was my first time ever running over 3 miles. From there I began to run further and further, taking on my first race that summer and then Sky to Summit shortly after.
Now I have run a few Ultras and mixed in other trail races/savage races. Running still doesn't come easy for me, but I chose to take it on anyway. I've grown passionate about taking on "hard stuff" by choice, so that when difficult times come in life they hopefully aren't so "hard".
RUNNING GOALS
I am trying to build a strong aerobic base where I can ramp up for races when I want - I want to improve and maintain my VO2
